KALIA Yojana is an abbreviation of Krushak Assistance to Livelihood and Income Augmentation. It is a flagship welfare program, which was initiated by the Government of Odisha in 2018. The scheme will assist the farmers, small and marginal cultivators, landless agricultural laborers and vulnerable households with financial support and livelihood benefits.
The primary objective of KALIA Yojana is to reduce poverty, enhance agricultural productivity, and improve the income of farmers and rural households in Odisha.
The KALIA Yojana provides multiple types of financial benefits depending on the category of beneficiaries.
Financial assistance: ₹10,000 per family per year
Paid in two instalments:
₹5,000 for the Kharif season
₹5,000 for Rabi season
Purpose: Crop cultivation and related agricultural expenses
Financial assistance: ₹12,500 per family
One-time support
Used for allied agricultural activities such as:
Goat rearing
Poultry
Fisheries
Mushroom cultivation
To provide financial security to farmers
